Mission

Nilo is a Web3 application that aims to improve oral health at the community level by making brushing teeth a fun and rewarding experience for users. The application leverages blockchain and AI technology to create a fair, transparent, and robust digital economy that tracks and rewards the brushing behavior of users.

By building a rewards-based ecosystem, Nilo aims to promote consistent and healthy brushing habits among people.

Background

Despite awareness of the importance of oral and dental health, many people fail to follow an adequate care regime which leads to dental problems. It is estimated that nearly 3.5 billion people are affected by oral issues such as dental decay, cavities, enamel erosion, periodontal diseases, root infections, sensitivity of teeth, bad breath, and receding gums, annually. These problems are attributed largely to a lack of awareness about oral care, a lack of motivation for engaging in oral care, and the absence of appropriate tracking and habit-building mechanisms in this sphere.
