Brushing Experience Points
Brushing Experience Points (BXP) are a unit of measurement for quantifying a user’s brushing activities. To initiate a BXP-earning brushing session, each user must have a working Nilo app with a hatched Nilo Avatar and sufficient charge or Brushing Power in the Smart Toothbrush. The Smart Toothbrush scores the total time and zone coverage of each brushing session. When the data is securely synced with the mobile application, the brush score is turned into BXP, which is used to level-up and evolve the user’s Nilo Avatar.
The user can brush up to three times a day with each qualified brush session earning them BXP for their Nilo Avatar. To qualify for earning BXP, the user must brush for the recommended amount of time and cover all brushing zones. Additional rewards come in the form of Reward boxes (Loot Boxes) that are dropped randomly according to the Nilo avatar’s attributes. More information about Reward Boxes is provided in the Reward Boxes section.
Simultaneously, when a user does not brush the expert recommended twice a day, their Nilo avatar’s health starts to decay. A Nilo avatar in decay earns less BXP than those that are in good health. There are two ways in which the Nilo application tracks the brushing sessions from the Smart Toothbrush:
Guided Brushing: A guided brushing session is initiated from the application which walks the user through a full two-minute instructional guide on covering all brushing zones for the recommended time. The user is then scored on the basis of the time spent brushing on each zone.
Offline Brushing: The Smart Toothbrush can be used without opening the application. It keeps reports of the last 7 days of unguided brushes. Only the duration of brushing sessions are used in scoring the user’s offline brushing.
AI Brushing: The app can be used without the Nilo Smart Toothbrush using the AI mode. Only the duration of brushing sessions is used in scoring the user’s offline brushing.
