Earning BXP

All Brush sessions have a maximum earning score of 100% that can be attained by brushing one’s teeth with the Smart Toothbrush for the recommended duration and covering all of the 12 brushing zones.

Each time a brush session is completed, the Smart Toothbrush sends real-world brushing metrics back to the application. This data is scored and measured against the efficiency rate of the user’s Nilo avatar to arrive at the total BXP earned for that session. The higher the Nilo avatar’s efficiency rate, the more BXP the user can potentially gain per brushing session. (Nilo avatar’s Efficiency rate is covered in the Nilo attributes section.)

• Brush Duration: 40% of the 100 points of the brush score is allocated to the duration of the brushing session. 5% of the score is allocated to every 15 seconds spent brushing and 10% is allocated to the 120-second mark to motivate the users to brush the full two-minute expert recommended time.

• Brush Frequency: When the offline brushing history is synced, the frequency of the user’s brushing habits will allocate bonus BXP points to their Nilo avatar for meeting brushing streaks. This method is covered in the Milestones section.

• Zone Coverage: There are a total of 12 brushing zones with a 60% allocation towards the time spent brushing each zone. Each zone is allocated 5% and split into two-time targets of 5 seconds and 7 seconds to get the full score for the particular zone.

Currently, Zone Coverage is scored only when a Guided Brushing is performed. In Offline Brushing, only the brush duration is used to score the individual brush session making offline brushing sessions capable of earning only 40% of the 100 points possible.

In order to achieve the maximum BXP daily earnings for their Nilo, the user must use guided brushing. This will not only help the user earn more rewards, but also aid them in mastering their brushing technique.
